Chart format
The Financial Chart system supports many different format configurations for charts.
1. Configuration for each type of indicator
To change the format for each type of chart, the user selects the type of indicator that needs to be changed by clicking on the Security with the indicator, as each Indicator associated with the Security will have a different format.
Data format:
Value: Displays the original value of the selected indicator. User can choose the unit to display including Raw (Raw data in Database), Thousand, Million, Billion, Trillion.
Relative: The system will calculate the growth of each point on the selected indicator value relative to the data point before the first point. For example, user chooses to calculate Growth with the YTD period (01.01.2023 to present), then the growth of the index will be calculated against the last data point of 2023.
Display data: The system supports displaying the value of each indicator on the chart but should only be used when the number of displayed points is small.
2. Configuration for the whole chart
(1) User can switch between by Time and by Securities
(2) Configuration for full screen
To change the settings for the full screen, user clicks on the gear icon to the right of the chart.
Title chart: Users can change the text formats of Title including: Bold, italic, underline, change font size and change position of Title (align left, center, align right)
X-axis: Users can change the text format of the X-axis including: Bold, italic, underline, change font size and change position (align left, center, align right)
The user can group the Horizontal Axis by year in case the X Axis is selected plotted by time. The system will group Days, Months, Quarters by Year to help users save charting space
For charts with X-Axis plotted by Securities, the user can rotate the Securities Name on the chart. In case the chart name contains many characters (the indicators on the financial statements, the name of the sector), rotating the indicator name will save some space and increase the aesthetics.
X-axis Legend: users can change the text format of the X-axis Title including: Bold, italic, underline, change the font size and change the position of the Title (align left, center, align right)
Users can choose to Hide/Show X-Axis Title by Time and Securities. Hiding Title when plotting by Securities will save more space
Y-axis Position: Users can change the text format of the Y-axis including: Bold, italic, underline, change font size and change position (align left, center, align right)
The number of Y-axis displayed on the chart will correspond to the number of securities and indicators that user has selected, so the Group Axis function will help user align the drawing space when user drawing multiple subjects. The system will combine the indicators with the same unit into the same Y-axis.
Users can choose the position for the vertical axis including: left, right, custom (The system automatically aligns so that the Y axis is displayed properly)
Y-axis Label: users can change the text format of the Y-axis Title including: Bold, italic, underline, change the font size and change the position of the Title (align left, center, align right)
The title can be placed in 2 positions: Next to Y axis and Above Y axis

In case user draws many objects on the chart, the system may display too many legends, then user can select Turn off Y-axis legend
Set default colors: Users can use the system's suggested colors or create their own set of brand colors when drawing charts. The marked color is saved in the Favorite Color group and is automatically applied when plotting.
Grid display: Choose to display a blank background or a horizontal grid background for the entire chart
